To adapt to the rapidly evolving environment, agriculture in 2040 will integrate technologies such as AI and 3D printing to reduce manpower requirements and carbon emissions. Firstly, in terms of greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture, AI prediction technology will be capable of performing cost-benefit analysis, controlling parameters to optimize yield, and detecting and addressing problematic factors. Additionally, through other automated processes, it can reduce resource consumption while simultaneously optimizing crop production (Revanth, 2019).

In addition, due to the significant contribution of livestock management to greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture, the prices of high carbon footprint foods such as meat, dairy, and eggs are expected to rise. The source of animal proteins will become increasingly scarce, leading to the dominance and growing prevalence of protein substitutes such as plant-based milk in the market. The use of 3D printing technology with lower carbon intensity to create structures of proteins and enzymes can compensate for the shortage of animal proteins. This biologically sourced 3D printing method can be extended to the chemical and mechanical industries, enabling large-scale production of more environmentally friendly and cost-effective products (nanalyze, 2019).
